3D printing filaments are hygroscopic (they absorb moisture from the air). Store them in airtight containers with desiccant or use a dedicated filament dryer.

Consistency

Calibrate your extrusion multiplier for every new spool. Even the same brand can have slight diameter variations between different colors.
